Exploring the youth engagement in the labour market
LAC OECD 4th Ministerial Summit on Productivity
ALELD had the privilege of partnering with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in the lead up to the OECD Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Fourth Ministerial Summit on Productivity in Brasília, Brazil.
On Tuesday 21 June 2022, ‘The Youth Side of Productivity’ webinar was held virtually to hear about how we can address the school-to-work transition and successfully engage youth into the labour market. The two-part event attracted over 80 participants, with ALELD’s Director of Partnerships, Dominic McCarthy, being the Master of Ceremonies, and Dr Erin Watson, Founder and Chair of ALELD, delivered opening remarks alongside José Antonio Ardavin, Head of the Latin America and Caribbean Division at the OECD. Veerle Miranda, Senior Economist in the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs of the OECD, presented on the OECD’s key economic indicators for youth employment, education and productivity across the region.
Dominic de Moura McCarthy represented the Australia Latam Emerging Leaders Dialogue at the Ministerial Summit and you can read the full blog on the events here.
